What you need to know about Prop. 19
As we anticipate the historical inauguration of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, there's a fair amount of anxiety over the anticipation of unrest this week.
If you're feeling the stress of, you know, everything, we hope you're taking care of yourself. In case you need the reminder or the permission, don't forget to put down your phone, talk a walk outside, and have a glass of water. (This is just as much a reminder to ourselves!)
Meanwhile, today we celebrate the life and legacy of a man whose messages not just of nonviolent resistance, but also of the dangers of white moderates prioritizing "order" over justice, and of economic justice being essential to equality, are just as relevant as ever. Today's holiday is a somber one as we consider how black people have been disproportionately impacted by COVID.
So in addition to taking extra care of ourselves and our immediate loved ones, we're taking time together as a team to talk about how we can continue ongoing contributions to our immediate communities. Not just on this official day of service, but beyond.
