If you pay any attention to the numbers we share below every week in our newsletter, you might notice that the numbers have been trending upward since the beginning of the year.

The first week of the year was the slowest week for activity. That's to be expected as people recover from the holiday hangover. Just 90 residential properties came on the market in Alameda County, and only 71 properties came on the market in Contra Costa County.

By comparison, last week, we saw 276 properties (Alameda County) and 243 properties (Contra Costa) hit the market.

In early January, only 137 (AC) and 138 (CC) properties went pending in each county. Last week, 301 (AC) and 316 (CC) went pending.

And for the solds: Just 141 (AC) and 146 (CC) sold in January. Last week? It was 293 in AC and 272 in CC.

Oh yeah—it's spring, baby!
