How to get the most out of your vacation.
For a lot of folks, it's been a summer of travel... and making up for lost travel time. (This phenomenon is also known as "revenge travel.")
In fact, over the Fourth of July weekend, travel recovered to pre-pandemic levels.
Here are a few tips for getting the most out of your vacation:
Enjoy the anticipation.
- We've talked about this before because it's true—a huge chunk of your enjoyment of any event or vacation is in the anticipation itself. So allow yourself to get excited and fantasize about your itinerary (or lack thereof) for your next trip.
- Set the OOO auto-responder.
Funny coming from a real estate team, I know (we can't get enough of our phones!), but leaving work behind—or at least setting limits and boundaries for yourself—will do wonders for your happiness and stress level.
- Live in the moment.
Sure, take some photos to document your time with your family or friends, but resist the urge to post them to social media right away. Don't steal from your "now" time. Instead, enjoy posting it after you get home, so you can relive the experience then.
